La compañía Onkyo Corporation es una marca japonesa, fundada en 1946, fabricante de aparatos de audio y sonido, tales como Home Cinema, receptores, altavoces y otros.
Actualmente, es un grupo de empresas denominado Onkyo Corporation.
Ya desde sus principios, Onkyo se reveló como una empresa fuerte e innovadora en sus productos de audio, altavoces, etc.
En 1960, la compañía saca al mercado su primer altavoz con respuesta integrada y comenzó la venta de altavoces a gran escala. También en ese año comenzaron a fabricar equipos estéreo.
En los 70 resaltaron sus receptores y en los 80 también lo hizo con sus pletinas, amplificadores, sintonizadores AM-FM, y otros.
En los años 90, Onkyo se convirtió en una de las empresas más importantes del sector por su constante innovación y la calidad de sus aparatos de audio. En esta década fabrica varios productos de gran calidad y de gama alta que llegan a ser muy valorados en el mercado.
A partir de ahí y hasta nuestros días, Onkyo no ha dejado de innovar siendo pionero en varias ocasiones de productos tecnológicos relacionados con el audio.
